CHIEDU EBIE BIOGRAPHY
A longtime attorney and oil and gas exploration executive, Chiedu Ebie accepted a position as commissioner of the Delta State Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education in July 2015. His current focus involves a review of Delta State’s primary and secondary educational system policies and structure. Once the review process is complete, Chiedu Ebie will create a strategy for the transformation of the educational sector, enhancing the quality of both education and curricula.
Mr. Ebie previously spent five years as managing director of Millenium Oil & Gas Company Limited, which operates in Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta region. His affiliation with the company began in 2003, when it made a successful bid during the federal government’s initial marginal field licensing round. He helped to raise $30 million in financing and guided the firm’s exploration and production activities in the Oza marginal field. Moreover, Chiedu Ebie has an extensive background in corporate law and was a partner with the law firm Okonjo, Odiawa and Ebie.
